Xavotsav is the annual cultural extravaganza of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata organized by its Students’ Council. Held in the month of January, it is one of the most anticipated events held in Kolkata every year. It celebrates the various talents of college students in Kolkata, revealing untapped potential in front of huge appreciative audiences. Traversing wide-ranging genres from Sports and gaming to Lifestyle to Speaking Arts, around 70 events complete the events section of Xavotsav 2018. And each event receives enthusiastic participation from college students across the city. The success of each passing Xavotsav infuses a sense of eagerness in the next Students’ Council to raise the standards to present a gala festival to the masses. Also eminent musical personalities like Marnik, Papon and the East India Company, Agnee, Neel and the Lightbulbs, Suketu, The Raghu Dixit Project, Euphoria, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Hard Kaur among others have graced Xavotsav in the past.
St. Xavier’s College Students’ Council strives to ensure the betterment of the ways of its fellow Xaverians and to that effect, conducts events which attract participation across different departments, not limited by the knowledge of any particular study. Signature events of SXCSC include Xavier’s Premier League, a five a side football tournament with both Men’s and Women’s sections. X-Trek, the annual end-sem expedition which takes interested students on a memorable journey of exploration of the utopian beauty of Mother Nature across India. And of course there is Xavotsav, the premier event which attracts footfall exceeding 45000 annually. St. Xavier’s College Students’ Council assures you that Xavotsav 2018: Sounds of the Multiverse will be an enriching, fun-filled affair; indeed an affair to remember.
